Yonkers Airport Transportation
Getting a group to or from a major New York-area airport without a plan is the kind of thing that ages you. JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark are all within striking distance of Yonkers — but "within striking distance" on a map looks very different at 6 a.m. on I-95 with checked bags and a flight to catch. LaGuardia (LGA) sits roughly 18 miles south via the Deegan and the Triborough, and traffic on that corridor is genuinely unpredictable.
Newark Liberty (EWR) adds a tunnel or bridge into the equation. JFK requires navigating the Van Wyck, which is its own category of misery.
A Yonkers airport sprinter van solves the whole thing: one vehicle, one pickup address, direct to the terminal — bags stowed in the undercarriage bay, group assembled, no parking garage fees, no rideshare surge. At LaGuardia, authorized van and car-service pickups use designated terminal areas: Terminal A is directly across the street, Terminal B is Level 2 of the Terminal B parking garage, and Terminal C uses the arrivals inner lane; use the official LGA van and shuttle instructions so the group does not wait at the wrong curb. LGA terminal curbsides are for active loading only, and the free cell-phone lot on 94th Street is open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for a transportation provider waiting on arriving passengers.
At JFK, terminal curbsides also prohibit parking and unattended waiting; the airport's free Lefferts Boulevard wait lot connects to every terminal by an approximately eight-minute AirTrain ride, while current construction is lengthening van and shuttle pickups. For airport pickups, have your group coordinator confirm the terminal and door before the van is called to the curb.
